Udupi:March.1:The work on Talapadi-Nantoor and Kundapur-Surathkal NH 66 widening project is started again slowly after a long break. The accidents at Padubidre,Yermal,Muloor,Kaup,Pangal,Moodabettu-Kallapu,Katapadi,udyavar,Aadi udupi,Kalyanpur,Santhekatte,brahmavar,Saligrama,Kota,Koteshwar and Kundapur areas on NH 66 have became the news of everyday.

The movement of traffic near Mulki flyover,Pangal flyover,Katapadi-Kallapu flyover,Udyavar flyover,Kalyanpur and Maabukala flyovers has become difficult due to the stoppage of work in progress  on this project. Re asphalting on the required areas of the road has been started. The work on ‘road diversions’ has been given preference to facilitate the movement of traffic on both the sides of the road.

The Engineers of Surathkal-Kundapur NH 66 widening project ‘Navayug Contracting Co.’has promised the public at ‘Road Safety Month’ campaign last month,to resume the work on this project. But the work on ‘land disputed’ areas is still pending due to the unresolved land acquisition cases
