Counting starts at 8 am for the March.7 local body elections;results expected before noon

Mangalore/Udupi:March.10: The counting of votes for the local body elections held on March.7 will begin today at 8 am. The election commission has made all the necessary arrangements in this respect. The results are expected to be announced by Monday afternoon.

The counting of Mangalore Corporation votes will be held at ‘Rozario educational Institution’. The future of 677 candidates will be decided today for the elections held for 187 seats.

Section 144 will be in force from 6 am untill 6 pm on Monday to prevent any unwanted incidents.

The counting of votes in Udupi,Kundapur and Karkala taluks will start from 8 am on Monday morning. The counting will be held at St.Cicily school in Udupi,Bhandarkars college in Kundapur and Mini Vidhana soundha in Karkala. The results are expected to be announced by 11 am in Udupi,Kundapur and Karkala taluks.
