‘Shankarnarayana Taluk formation fighting committee’ drafts division of 101 villages between 3 taluks

Kundapur:March.18:The formation of 2 more taluks(Byndoor and Shankarnarayana) from the existing Kundapur taluk is the demand of the people of  both the regions. Karkala,Udupi,Kundapur,Brahmavar,Byndoor and Shankarnarayana in Udupi dist.have the Sub-Registrar offices since the time of British regime and all of them are still operating.


The areas having  the Sub Registrar office in Udupi dist.except the Naxal affected Shankarnarayana have been announced as taluks by Karnataka CM Jagadish Shettar in his Feb.month state budget. Now the confusion has raised regarding the distribution of the villages between the 2 taluks. The geographical boundaries between the 2 taluks is yet to be decided by the state govt.


The ‘Shankarnarayana Taluk Formation Fighting committee’ has submitted a proposed draft of the division of 101 villages in Kundapur taluk on the basis of their nearest Sub-Registrar office, if Shankarnarayana is going to be announced as one of the new taluks. The sketch of the division of 101 villages between the 3 taluks according to the committee’s draft is as above.
