Belthangadi:Tanker topples;petrol,diesel harvest

Belthangadi:March.26: A diesel tanker overturned near Kashibettu curve at Dharmasthala-Mangalore state highway on Tuesday. The tanker was carrying petrol and diesel in 2 separate compartments and was heading towards Ujire. The driver lost control of the tanker at the curve and as a result it overturned in a wet land. The driver got injuries and admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore.

The oil started leaking from the tanker after the incident. The locals filled their cans and barrels with the soaring oil from the tanker. Hundreds of people took the oil from the tanker. The civil defense vehicle reached the spot and took precaution to avoid the possible explosion from the incident.
