Mangalore-Dammam Flight services will start soon:Ajith Singh

Mangalore:March.18:Union Aviation Minister Ajith Singh has inaugurated the ‘Air Cargo Complex’ at the Bajpe International Airport on Monday. Addressing the inaugural function he said “Mangalore International Airport has become an important center for National and International connectivity. A project of Rs.100 crore is under construction at the airport and Rs.250 crore projects are already completed”.
‘Mangalore has land,water,air and railway connections and that is why it has became one of the main national business center. The flight services from Gulf countries to Mangalore has become very popular. Air India Express flight will resume its services to Dammam(KSA) soon”.he said.
“The permission has been granted for 24 airports nation wide for the handling of internal cargo. Mangalore Aiport is handling 200 flights per week and it is making a remarkable progress. It is one of the best airports in South India. Around 21,000 Metric ton internal cargo is being handled from all the airports in the country and the new airport cargo complex at the Mangalore airport will add more facilities” he said.
“The run way at the airport has to be expanded and the Central govt.is ready for its approval. But the state govt.should provide 285 acres of land for this project. Let Veerappa Moily and Oscar Fernades approach the state govt.” he said.
