Byndoor:March.23:Kundapur Taluk ‘Farmers Association’ led the protest with the help of the  general Public against the regular cuts in the supply of electricity, in front of Byndoor MESCOM office on Sunday. Udupi Dist.Farmers Association president Deepak Kumar Shetty addressing the protesters said “The people of the newly announced Byndoor taluk  are going through difficult time due to non stop load shedding. There is no proper water supply for the use of the agriculture. Students cannot do preparations for their ongoing examinations and the owner of the small scale industries are helpless. Even though ‘Varahi power plant’ and Padubidre Thermal power plants are located in Udupi district,the people are still facing power shortage and this is condemn able  MESCOM is trying to make an inside agreement for the supply of power to other states”.

MESCOM Asst.Engineer Siddesh said” the daily requirement of power supply in this area is 14 Mega Watt but only 6 mega watt power supply is available. There is no alternative except to cut the power supply”. He promised to inform the senior officers about the problems of the public.

But the protesters demanded the clarification from the senior officer itself.  Mahadevappa,senior officer at the MESCOM Byndoor office  came in the afternoon. He said “the load shedding is common factor during summer season. We will try to solve the current situation with in a weeks time’ he added.

Farmers Association vice president Vasanth Hegde,Yedthere village panchayath former president Ganesh Poojari,Madhukar Sheth,Subramanya Poojari and Pius led the protest.
