Duo arrested for theft of electronic goods worth Rs 4.8 lakh

MANGALORE: The Kadri police achieved a breakthrough in a serial, theft case with the arrest of two persons at Mision Compound, Balmatta on Tuesday.

The arrested are – Muneer Ahmed alias Goods Muneer (57) from Bunder and Ibrahim BM (67) from Manjeshwar, Kasargod District, Kerala. The latter was working as a watchman at a liquor store.

The value of the seized goods was estimated at Rs 4.87 lakh. The recovered stolen goods included eight laptops, four LCD TVs, one air conditioner, four digital cameras, three mobiles, a CC camera, a scooter etc. The duo had targeted shops at Balmatta, Bendore, Urwa, Bejai Kapikkad, Valencia and PVS in the city. Police said more recoveries are on the cards.
