Perne:’Farmers Association’ and ‘citizens committee’ stage protest by stopping the tankers on NH 75
Puttur:April.12:Local Citizens committee and ‘Farmers Association’ have protested demanding the rehabilitation of the victims of Perne gas tanker tragedy on Friday. The protesters demanded the reconstruction of houses for those who died and injured in the incident by stopping the tankers on NH 75 on Friday.
Addressing the protesters,Citizens committee leader and businessman K.S.Ashok Kumar Rai Kodimbadi said MRPL should give Rs.1 crore as relief fund for the family members of those who died in the incident and one of the family member should get job opportunity in the oil company. We will stage severe protest with the help of various organizations if our demands will not be considered he said.
State Farmers Association vice president Vijay Kumar Hegde,leader Roopesh Rai,Perne village panchayath president ToYajnaka Shetty,social worker Mithradasa Rai and others were present at the protest.
