Gujjadi:”Knowledge of English language is the necessity of the day”:Shivananda Karanth

Gangulli:April.10:Gujjadi Govt.Hr.Pr.school Old students Association has celebrated its 14th anniversary at Gujjadi School on Sunday.

Inagurating the function well known writer and retired teacher K.Shivananda Karanth said “It is not right to call ‘anti Kannada people’ to those parents’ who want to give education to their children in English medium. Beside giving co-operation to the progress of Kannada language,it is necessary to get the knowledge of other languages. We should understand the power of English language which is widely spoken all over the world”.

Industrialist and Gujjadi school old student Narayan T.Poojari presided over the function. Mumbai businessman Gopal Putran Sulse,school old student Vinod Kumar(Sigma Infotech,Shimoga),school SDMC former president Ganesh Nayak,Bangalore ‘Honey Well’ company engineer Prashanth Kumar C.H. and Doctor Arun Kumar presented their best wishes. Retired teacher H.Bhaskar Shetty and old students association founder president Valiyullah was felicitated at the programme. Old students Association Hon.president Harish Mestha was present at the occasion.

Prakash Poojari of old students association welcomed the guests. Manjunath Billava presented the annual report. Retired teacher Nagaraj Kodancha and Prakash N.Mestha introduced the guests. Shridhar P.Mestha distributed the prizes and Secretary Krishna Gujjadi proposed vote of thanks.
