Malpe:Stones pelted at Nejar Juma Masjid;youth attacked by a group of culprits

Malpe:April.3:A group of unknown culprits pelted stones and broken the 2 front window glasses of Juma Masjid near Padutonse Nejar on Tuesday night. The incident took place at 11 pm and at that time Masjid khateeb Aboobacker Musliar,Moosa Kunhi and Basheer Sa’adi were inside the Masjid. When they came out to see what is happening,a group of 7-8 people fled the scene they said.

Prior to this incident at 10 pm,a youth was attacked by the same group when he was returning home after attending a Mehndi programme, half a Kilo meter far from the Masjid at south Nejar. The youth, Iqbal got head and body injuries and admitted to Ajjarkadu hospital in Udupi. The same Masjid was attacked 4 year back according to the sources.

A complaint was lodged at Malpe police station and the police are interrogating Sathish Naika,Prashanth and Praveen in this connection.

Udupi Dist.SSF and SYS leaders have condemned the attack on Nejar Juma Masjid and urged the Police dept.to arrest the culprits immediately.
