‘Kundapur Railway Passengers welfare committee’ urges MP to upgrade Kundapur station
Kundapur:June.3:”Railway Passengers Welfare committee” Kundapur has wrote a letter to MP Jayaprakash Hegde demanding the fulfillment of essential services for the economic progress of the region. The committee has urged Mr.Jayaprakash Hegde to pursue the following matters with Railway Ministery during the forthcoming Railway Parliamentary Members consultative committee meeting.1.Providing stoppages for Mumbai Express Train No 12134 (daily) Mangalore Junction to CSTM and Mangalore Express Train No 12133 (daily) CSTM to Mangalore at Kundapur Railway Station.
2.Upgrading & Modernizing the Railway station at Kundapur. Let our Kundapur Railway Station be a model station of konkan railway.
3.Providing stoppages for proposed Madgaon-Mangalore intercity express at all taluka Head quarters (as per Budget declaration)
4.New DMU train is proposed in this year’s Railway budget between Thokur and Bhatkal. Please extend the same up to Mangalore Central. This would be much helpful to the public.
5.We demand construction of additional platform at Mangalore Central Station to facilitate more trains (Proposal submitted by Southern Railway is still pending for approval from railway board).
6.The proposed Mangalore-Bangalore weekly train must be routed via Hasan-Arasikere/Mysore instead of Selam/Palakkad.
7.Western Railway is operating summer special train service between Mangalore-Ahmedabad which is in great demand and popular and hence, we demand that the above said service may please be operated between Subramanya and Ahmedabad regularly
8.We request to re-schedule the present timings of 16523/16524 Yeshawantpura – Karwar train and make it more useful to our coastal people.
9.The present general coach (unreserved) in 16523/16524 Yeshawantpura – Karwar train is of only 25 people capacity. We request to increase the same to 75 people capacity.
